Meet Dr. Alexander Caniglia

Alexander J. Caniglia, MD is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon originally from Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Caniglia received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
His passion for facial surgery led him to pursue a rigorous and competitive five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago. Throughout his residency, Dr. Caniglia showcased his exceptional surgical skills by performing over 2,000 procedures and dedicated a significant amount of time focusing on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and nose. His dedication and proficiency in his field were acknowledged when he was named Chief Resident in his fifth year, a prestigious honor bestowed upon exceptional surgical residents. Dr. Caniglia has also been published in top medical journals including Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine, and Laryngoscope.
To further refine his expertise, Dr. Caniglia sought out an acclaimed fellowship opportunity in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Indianapolis. Under the guidance of world-renowned surgeons, Dr. Stephen W. Perkins and Dr. Mark Hamilton, he is further expanding his knowledge in the field. This expertise enables him to offer a wide range of services to his patients.
Dr. Caniglia’s extensive repertoire includes procedures such as rhinoplasty, face and neck lifts, blepharoplasty, forehead and brow lifts, scar revision, otoplasty, and the administration of injectables like Botox® and dermal fillers. He is also well-versed in advanced techniques such as skin resurfacing and facial implant procedures. Additionally, he is adept at performing reconstructive surgeries, including tissue repair following Mohs surgery, dog bites, and other types of lacerations.
With great enthusiasm, Dr. Caniglia has joined Meridian Plastic Surgery Center and is excited to embark on this new chapter in Indianapolis. He looks forward to providing exceptional care to his patients and exploring all that this vibrant city has to offer.
