Dr. Mark M. Hamilton

Dr. Mark Hamilton is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes exclusively in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Hamilton has authored numerous publications and lectured extensively to fellow physicians on all aspects of facial plastic surgery. He has been selected by his peers as one of Indianapolis Monthly magazine’s “Top Docs” annually for more than a decade and has been recognized by both Castle Connolly and the Consumers Research Council of America as one of America’s top physicians in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Hamilton graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University, where he also earned his medical degree. During medical school, he received a merit-based scholarship and gained national recognition for his research. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at St. Louis University, followed by a Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship through Indiana University. He is board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2019, he voluntarily recertified in Facial Plastic Surgery and achieved the highest score in the nation on the written examination.

Committed to advancing the specialty, Dr. Hamilton actively teaches residents at the IU School of Medicine, where he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor. His Carmel and Greenwood offices are also home to one of only 65 facial plastic surgery fellowship programs in North America, helping train the next generation of facial plastic surgeons.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hamilton has held numerous leadership roles within the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), including Chairman of the Emerging Technologies Committee and service on the Young Physicians, Credentials, and Public Information Committees. He received the prestigious 1887 Award in recognition of his commitment to the AAFPRS Foundation. For more than a decade, Dr. Hamilton has served as an expert trainer and speaker for Allergan, educating physicians nationwide on best practices for injectable treatments such as Botox® and Juvéderm®. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, contributed to board examination development, acted as an oral examiner, and previously served as President of the Indianapolis Medical Society.
