RHA® Fillers in Indianapolis, Indiana

RHA® fillers are the newest hyaluronic acid-based fillers to enter the market, offering more resilient results that last longer than previous injectable dermal fillers. At Hamilton Facial Plastic Surgery in Greenwood and Carmel, double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Mark M. Hamilton, MD, FACS, is pleased to offer these treatments to residents living in and around Indianapolis, Indiana.

What are RHA® Fillers?

RHA® fillers are a new collection of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers from Revance. Previously, dermal fillers have offered limited results due to their short lifespan and their common effect of restricting natural facial movements. RHA® fillers are made with resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA), which is designed to respond and adapt to your natural facial movements

Where Can RHA® Fillers Be Applied?

RHA® fillers are primarily designed for application around the midface, nose and mouth. They are most often used and FDA approved for the nasolabial folds, which run from the nose to the corners of the mouth. As we age and loose facial volume, the nasolabial folds become deeper. RHA® fillers may be effective for restoring lost volume by filling the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and laugh lines.

How are RHA® Fillers Administered?

In some cases, RHA® fillers are administered after a topical anesthetic has been applied to the treatment areas. The RHA® fillers contain a local numbing agent (lidocaine) that helps reduce any discomfort experienced during the injection process. Our advanced injectors will use an ultrafine hypodermic needles or cannulas to deliver the appropriate RHA® formula into and around the desired areas of the face. For most patients, the benefits of this in-office procedure will be immediate and last approximately 15 months. After this time, patients normally return for another treatment.

What is the RHA® Filler Recovery Like?

After your RHA® filler has been administered, you may experience some temporary discomfort, swelling, bruising, or sensitivity in the treatment area. A cold compress can help manage these symptoms, but they should resolve on their own within a few days. For the first 24 hours following treatment, we recommend avoiding the use of makeup, limiting exercise and avoiding sun exposure or hot environments (saunas, baths, etc.). Otherwise, you are able to resume all normal activities immediately.

Are RHA® Fillers Right for Me?

It’s your choice to determine if RHA® fillers are the ideal treatment for you, but we can help you determine if you can benefit from RHA® fillers during a private consultation. If you are unhappy with the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, RHA® fillers may be able to help.
