The opportunities for in office treatments has expanded exponentially in the last 10-15 years.
Most are familiar with Botox as well as collagen fillers of the past. Newer fillers offer the opportunity for
injections that are longer lasting (up to 1-2 years) and no longer require skin testing.
Hyaluronic acid is the component of most commonly used fillers today. While these are long acting(up to one year), well tolerated, and reversible, they are not permanent.

While this is a plus for many patients, it important to know that it is not reversible. I recommend all patients try a temporary filler first to make sure they like the effect. In addition, treatments are typically done over a series of sessions to avoid irreversible over-correction. Lastly, patients do need a skin test beforehand. Fortunately reactions are rare.
