HALO™ Hybrid Fractional Laser in Indianapolis, INTime, sun, smoking and other elements can damage and age our skin. There are several laser skin resurfacing options available to help reverse the wrinkles, sun damage, and discoloration. Options at Hamilton Facial Plastic Surgery include BBL treatments, nano laser peel, micro laser peel, Sciton deep Erbium laser resurfacing, CO2 laser resurfacing and Halo. Below is a description of each treatment and what to know as a potential patient.

BBL and the new BBL HERO

Broad Band Light (BBL) is the best intense pulsed light therapy out there. It is the most effective device for treating reds and browns as well as providing subtle improvement in texture and tone of the skin. BBL is the fastest way to treat the visible signs of aging on the face and body. The treatment is comfortable, has no-downtime, and eliminates the visible signs of aging such as age spots, sun spots, redness or dull-looking skin. It improves the appearance of the skin anywhere on the body.

BBL visibly improves signs of aging on your face, neck, chest, arms, shoulders, and legs. Improvement can be seen in 1 treatment, although 1-3 treatments is recommended. The treatment is comfortable, and typically well tolerated. There is no stamping or striping of the skin. A topical anesthetic is applied beforehand. Post care is simple. Just stay out of the sun, and results will be visible in 2-4 weeks. Beautiful skin can be achieved from head to toe with the application of BBL, and now even more quickly with the new BBL HERO.

Nano Laser Peel

For someone looking for something more than a chemical peel or microdermabrasion a nano laser peel is a minimal downtime, light treatment that helps restore the skins natural smoothness and lustrous glow. A nano laser peel removes the uppermost layer of the stratum corneum less than (10 microns). Unlike a chemical peel, a nano laser peel can be optimized for each individual needs to achieve the results and downtime desired. It is sometimes called the weekend peel as it is an easy way to return to work on Monday with refreshed, revitalized skin.

Micro Laser Peel

A micro laser peel is indicated for mild to deep wrinkles as a result of photoaging or skin damage caused by prolonged sun exposure. This treatment addresses light and mild wrinkles easily, at a customizable treatment depth of up to (50 microns). Depending upon the severity of the wrinkle, coagulation or heat can be added to improve skin turgor. Patients can typically anticipate being able to wear makeup within 2-4 days of treatment.

Sciton Laser Erbium Deep Resurfacing

Deep resurfacing is indicated for patients with severe rhytids or wrinkles and sagging skin around the eyes, cheek, or mouth area. Downtime is typically 7-10 days (after which camouflage make-up can be applied) followed by a pink discoloration for 4-8 weeks. Deep resurfacing is for patients wanting maximal improvement and accepting longer downtime. This procedure is performed exclusively by Dr. Hamilton.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Much like deep Erbium resurfacing, CO laser provides similar downtime with the possibility for dramatic improvement. This also is performed exclusively by Dr. Hamilton.

Halo

Halo is a world class laser offering world class results. It is classified as a hybrid fractional skin resurfacing laser for the face and body which combines two types of wavelengths to rejuvenate the skin. By targeting the top layer of the skin (ablative) and the deeper tissue underneath (non-ablative), healing time is minimized, and skin resurfacing and rejuvenation is optimized. Appropriate for all skin types, Halo is used to prevent and address visible signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, pore size, brown spots, and tone and texture of the skin.

Leading up to the procedure, patients should avoid excessive sun exposure. Just prior to procedure, a topical numbing agent is applied to the area being treated and a cooling device is provided during the procedure for added comfort. The laser has minimal downtime and makeup can be applied 24 hours after the procedure. Due to the dual application of ablation and non-ablation, healing time is minimized, and results are maximized. Anticipate 4-7 days for full healing to complete. One can expect to achieve noticeable improvement in as many as 1-2 treatments and treatments are typically recommended to be maintained every year thereafter. Halo provides a safe and effective treatment option for anyone looking to prevent and address visible signs of aging to the skin such as wrinkles, scars, and tone and texture.
