Dr. Mark Hamilton, F.A.C.S., is a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing solely in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. As a recognized leader and one of the top physicians in America in his field, Dr. Hamilton has authored multiple publications and lectured widely to his colleagues on all aspects of facial plastic surgery. Dr. Hamilton has been selected by his peers as one of Indianapolis Monthly Magazine’s “Top Docs” annually for over a decade and has been recognized by Castle Connolly as one of the nation’s “Top Physicians” in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Consumers Research Council of America has also recognized him as one of the “Top Physicians” in America for his work in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is actively involved in resident teaching at the IU School of Medicine and serves as a clinical assistant professor there.
Dr. Hamilton graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University, where he also received his MD degree. He received a merit-based scholarship during his medical school years and was recognized nationally for his research. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Saint Louis University and followed this with a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at Indiana University. Dr. Hamilton is board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO) and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). He recertified in Facial Plastic Surgery in 2019 and received the highest score in the nation on the written exam.
Dr. Hamilton has held various leadership positions in the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, including Chairman of the Emerging Technologies Committee, as well as serving on the Young Physicians, Credentials, and Public Information committees. In 2009, he was awarded the 1887 Award, a national recognition of his commitment to the AAFPRS Foundation. Dr. Hamilton has been an Expert trainer and speaker for Allergan (the makers of Botox and Juvederm) for the past decade, traveling all over the US to instruct and demonstrate best practices with injectables. He has served on the board of directors of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has been selected to author questions for the exam, as well as to serve as an oral examiner. He is also a former President of the Indianapolis Medical Society.
