Frequently Asked Questions
Q - About how much does a medical grade skincare regimen cost compared to other products?
Medical-grade skincare products normally compare to department store products in cost. Products such as Estee Lauder, Lancome and Clinique are often more expensive due to packaging. Medical-grade skincare ensures that the ingredients are there to give your skin what it needs to stay healthy and youthful. Ingredients such as Retinols, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Hydroquinone and even those found in Sunscreen are important. The percentage of the active ingredient is much higher in a medical-grade product.
Q - What is the difference between a Chemical Peel and Microdermabrasion?
Chemical Peels contain a variety of agents used to help exfoliate, lighten and minimize discoloration such as Melasma. Microdermabrasion utilizes a vacuum in conjunction with diamond-tips to smooth and exfoliate dead skin cells. Both treatments promote new collagen and healthy skin.
Q - I am interested in a chemical peel because I have really uneven pigmentation on my face and neck. How many sessions are needed for full treatment?
We recommend scheduling a skincare consultation before determining the number of chemical peels to treat pigment issues. Treatments are usually performed in a series of 3 at 3-4 week intervals depending on what type of chemical peel we choose to treat your skin's specific needs. It is also important to schedule routine skincare treatments such as microdermabrasion or maintenance peels every 3 months. Applying a daily sunscreen is also very important in maintaining your results.
