What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is specifically formulated to treat moderate to severe creases and wrinkles in your skin by increasing elasticity, fullness and volume in the outer layer and by supporting it from within. The injectable delivers an underlying microspheric structure to the deeper layers under the surface of your skin to lift and support the outer layer. The structure also promotes collagen production to build elasticity, suppleness and volume. The collagen that is produced fills in the microspheric lattice to make the texture of your skin smoother and appear younger.

Benefits of Radiesse®

As a unique injectable dermal filler, Radiesse® offers advantages that other dermal fillers do not. It is also clinically proven to deliver results that last for up to two years. The product stimulates the natural production of collagen in your skin so that it is basically repairing itself through a natural process. This enhances your appearance gradually. Some of the unique advantages of Radiesse® include:

  • Results are immediately visible with gradual improvements for three months.
  • Results last for up to two years.
  • The risk of allergic reaction is very low.
  • The formula contains calcium hydroxylapatite, which is naturally found in healthy skin.
  • There is no down-time or recovery.
  • Treatment times are short.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Radiesse®?

It is important for you to talk to Dr. Hamilton about all of your options because Radiesse® is not for everyone. However, the FDA has approved the formula and determined that it is effective and safe for a majority of patients. In general, Dr. Hamilton recommends Radiesse® for patients between the ages of 35 and 60 who want to enhance and define their chin, cheeks, jawline, nose and smile without surgery. It is also ideal for adults who want a nonsurgical alternative to correct:

  • Frown lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds

Patients who suffer from facial lipoatrophy, which is a medical condition that makes the face lose contour, definition and fat, can also get Radiesse® treatments to restore volume in their faces.

How Should I Prepare for Radiesse®?

The FDA has only approved Radiesse® as an effective and safe treatment when an experienced and qualified nurse injects it. The product only contains natural ingredients, so it is rare for patients to experience allergic reactions.

However, you must still tell our advanced Injector about any allergies or other medical conditions that you have before you receive the treatment. Also inform our advanced injector of any medications that you are taking and if you have received other injections recently. The treatment may be postponed if you have inflammation, an infection or other skin irritation.

How Is Radiesse® Administered?

Before the injection, our advanced injectors may give you a local anesthesia to reduce the potential for discomfort. It will take 15 to 60 minutes to administer the treatment depending on the number of areas being treated.

Radiesse® is injected with very fine, small gauge needles, which are inserted into the proper layer of your skin. Although you will see some improvement immediately after the treatment, you will start to see the creases and lines in your skin disappear gradually over the next two or three weeks as your skin produces more collagen. One treatment can produce results for up to two years in most cases.
