Mini Facelift

Mini facelift is a term for a more limited incision facelift. Other varieties of this which often overlap include Necklift, Minilift, S-lift, Submentoplasty, Cheek Tuck-up Facelift, as well as other trademarked marketing terms. Mini facelifts offer targeted treatment of areas of concern, such as extra facial skin, early jowling, or neck relaxation. These procedures are ideal for younger patients who overall are doing well but have one small problem area. These patients are typically too early for a full facelift. In addition, it is an ideal procedure for those who have had a previous facelift, but would like a little tightening.

Advantage of a Mini Facelift

The advantages of Mini facelifts are more limited incisions and less downtime. Incisions can often be better camouflaged or hidden. Patients can expect less bruising and swelling. Make-up and time to routine activities is less than with a full facelift procedure.

The procedure is still done in an outpatient setting. Patients can choose to have just “twilight anesthesia” or even local if they desire. Patients are able to return home that evening and often can be seen publicly within the first week. Absorbable sutures are used and these are removed or trimmed at the one week point. Patients should feel comfortable returning to all social activities shortly after this.

Mini Facelift Procedure Results

Duration of Mini facelift results is variable depending on each patient’s anatomy, genetics, and how they maintain themselves afterward. That said most patients can expect results to last 5 to 10 years or more. Patients will always appreciate some benefits, however, for life.
