Facials in Indianapolis, Indiana

A facial can make all the difference between a healthy, radiant complexion and dull, lifeless-looking skin. Facials have been in use for decades, but thanks to numerous advancements, they can be customized to target certain skin issues. Whether you struggle with sun-damaged skin, acne or redness, double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Mark M. Hamilton, M.D., F.A.C.S., of Hamilton Facial Plastic Surgery, located in Carmel and Greenwood, possessess the knowledge and tools necessary for helping patients in and around Indianapolis achieve healthier skin.

What Is a Facial?

A facial is a special skin treatment on the face that is an ideal way to improve your skin. The appropriate facial treatment can also clean your skin, moisturize it, resolve problems and give it a healthy glow. Facials can include numerous treatments, such as extractions, massage, steam, chemical peels, exfoliation, lotions, creams, and masks.

How Much Does a Facial Cost in Indianapolis?

Because health insurance providers do not consider these treatments to be medically necessary, your policy most likely won’t cover the cost of your facial. To help make this beneficial treatment available to everyone, Hamilton Facial Plastic Surgery accepts personal checks, credit cards, and cash.

Benefits of a Facial

Besides being a pleasant and relaxing experience, facials can also help you achieve the healthiest skin possible. These treatments can have benefits, such as:

  • Helping you relax and reduce stress.
  • Improving blood flow to the skin, which helps enhance the regeneration of skin cells.
  • Detoxify the skin.
  • Make fine lines and wrinkles appear smoother.
  • Stimulate the production of new collagen, which helps prevent sagging, wrinkles, and lines.
  • Even out your complexion and lighten areas of hyperpigmentation.
  • Slow skin’s aging by helping it look and feel healthier.

Types of Facials

Regardless of what condition your skin is in, there is a facial that’s right for you. Whether it’s hyperpigmentation or acne, there is something to help you look and feel your best again.

The LimeLight Facial™

The LimeLight Facial™, an IPL or “photofacial” treatment, is a non-invasive way to rejuvenate your skin. This treatment can help to enhance your skin tone and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, lines and other blemishes.

The LimeLight Facial™ can be used on any area of the upper chest, neck or face with tiny veins, redness or hyperpigmentation. Light brown spots, which used to be hard to treat, are significantly reduced with the LimeLight Facial™.

During the procedure, when light pulses are emitted, you may notice a slight stinging or pinching feeling. Dr. Hamilton will use a special cooling gel on your skin to reduce discomfort. In most cases, anesthetic isn’t needed.

How long the procedure takes depends on the number of treatment areas. In most cases, it takes under one hour to complete. Most patients will achieve their desired results in one to three sessions. Dr. Hamilton may recommend further sessions if your skin is sun-damaged.

Right after the procedure, any brown spots will appear darker and your skin may become slightly swollen and red. You may use makeup to conceal any redness and go about your normal daily activities.

After one to three weeks, your brown spots will flake away and become less noticeable. Red patches and tiny veins will diminish and a splotchy skin tone will improve.

The AquaGold® Fine Touch™ Facial

The AquaGold® Fine Touch™ Facial is a microneedling face treatment that utilizes 24K gold-plated hair-like needles. This treatment helps shrink large pores, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces redness and plumps the skin.

The AquaGold® Fine Touch™ Facial is the only microneedling system that can deliver dermal fillers and Botox® directly into your skin to smooth your pores. While it is usually used on the face, this technique can also be used on areas of the upper chest and neck to help rid your skin of any redness, fine lines or wrinkles.

During the procedure, the aesthetician presses the gold-plated microneedles into the face, creating microchannels. These microchannels help your skin absorb the products. Because the hair-like needles are so thin, the procedure is virtually painless.

The number of treatments needed to achieve your desired result depends on the condition of your skin, however many patients see improvements after just one treatment. Dr. Hamilton may recommend you get more treatments depending on the appearance of pores, and fine lines and wrinkles on the skin.

HydraFacial®

The HydraFacial® uses a patented series of steps to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and hydrate, leaving your skin more radiant than ever before. This facial improves skin tone, texture, and elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This 30-minute facial takes four simple steps – cleanse, exfoliate, extract and hydrate – to the next level to clear your pores and brighten your complexion. While usually used for the face, this facial can also be used for the neck, upper chest, hands, arms, and back.

The HydraFacial® also has the option of adding on boosts to help you create a customized facial experience tailored to your biggest skin concerns. Dr. Hamilton may recommend you add on certain boosts to help with the appearance of fine lines, reduce uneven skin tone or even out skin texture.

Patients experience a difference in their skin after just one HydraFacial®, but regular maintenance visits are recommended to keeping your skin bright and radiant.

Preparing for Your Facial Appointment

In order to get the optimal effects from your facial, there are several things you should avoid before your appointment. Do not use skin exfoliants for at least four days prior. You should also avoid peels, retinol products or scrubs. If you have any skin irritation, it’s recommended to reschedule your facial. Furthermore, you’re advised to maintain your normal skin care habits. There’s no need to do anything to improve your skin’s appearance. Dr. Hamilton will need to see what your normal skin condition looks like so he can make the most accurate treatment recommendations.

Facial After Care

When your facial is finished, you’ll receive a list of what to avoid. Stay out of direct sunlight since your skin will be much more susceptible to its negative effects. You should also avoid washing your face for the amount of time recommended by Dr. Hamilton to help prevent unnecessary skin irritation.

Is a Facial Right for Me?

As people age, the elasticity in their skin and muscles naturally diminishes, which results in many of the most common problems. If aging has not been kind to your skin, you might need more than just normal skin care to regain a younger appearance. If this sounds like you, you’re an ideal facial candidate.
