Allergan announced last week that their newest Juvederm® product, Volbella® XC, received FDA approval. This product is the first and only product able to provide lip enhancement as well as correct lip lines for up to one year.
In clinical trials, JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC was found to effectively increase lip fullness and soften the appearance of lines around the mouth in a majority of subjects through one year. Like the other Juvederm® products, Volbella® is derived from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. It provides the same safety and reversibility as Allergan’s other fillers. Volbella®’s formulation provides a softer composition to better enhance the lips and diminish associated fine lines. Its low hydrophilic composition allows a much more natural yet long lasting correction. In addition, patients should see less swelling and a quicker recovery.
Juvederm® Volbella® has been in use in France for some time, but is not expected to be available here until the fall. As a trainer for Allergan, Dr. Hamilton will be involved with the launch of this product including physician training.
