For the subtle reshaping and redefining of lips and facial contours

Juvederm Volbella® is the first FDA approved filler to provide correction of lip wrinkles and provide lip enhancement that lasts up to a year. Like other Juvederm fillers, it is made from hyaluronic acid (HA) providing a smooth long lasting correction with a product that is natural to your body. Volbella® utilizes a lower concentration of HAs allowing it to provide a better correction of difficult to treat fine lines as well as create a softer product for lip enhancement. Studies showed that 98% of people who had Juvederm Volbella® reported that their lip appearance goals had been achieved.

Juvederm® Volbella® in Indianapolis, INBenefits of Volbella®
Volbella® is specifically designed for treatment of the lips and perioral area. Made from a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid than other fillers, Volbella® is better able to correct stubborn fine lines and wrinkles around the lip area. When placed superficially, it will not create a blue shadow (Tyndall effect) like other fillers. Because of its low cohesivity, it is more likely to spread through the tissues rather than leave lumpiness.

With Volbella®, patients can expect less swelling than other HA fillers. In addition, its smooth and soft nature provides an ideal product for enhancement of the lips. Volbella® utilizes Vycross technology to provide a long lasting correction, up to one year- the only product available for lip line correction to achieve this. Also, Volbella® contains Lidocaine minimizing discomfort during and after the injection. Lastly, like other Juvederm
® fillers, Volbella® is reversible if desired.

Is Volbella® safe?
Yes! Volbella® has been used since 2011 in Europe and has had an excellent safety record. In addition, in clinical trials with the FDA Volbella® demonstrated safety and effectiveness. The most common side effects were swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness and lumps. Most of these were mild or moderate in intensity and resolved within 30 days. Lastly, like all HA fillers, Volbella® is reversible if desired.

The Volbella® procedure
The first step is a consultation with either Dr. Hamilton or one of our nurse injectors to see if you are a good candidate for Juvederm Volbella®. If so, the treatment can be done the day of your consultation or scheduled for another time.

Patients will typically arrive 30 minutes prior to a treatment session for numbing cream. Dermal Injectibles and Fillers are done in the office and take less than 30 minutes. The patient’s skin is cleansed with either a prep solution or alcohol pad prior to injection. Ice may be applied prior to injection. Our injector will then carefully place the product to achieve the best results. Results can be done for a more subtle or more dramatic look depending on your choice. You will be able to see the effects and appreciate the result immediately!

Recovery after the injection is minimal. Patients may resume most activities immediately following treatment. Make-up can be applied shortly after treatment. Patients should restrain from strenuous activities or exercise for 24 hours. Patients should also avoid extreme sun or saunas/steam rooms for two weeks.

Patients should expect the following after injection:
Discoloration, bruising, redness, itching, firmness or lumps, tenderness and swelling.

If patients experience severe pain or discoloration, they should contact our office.
