I spend a lot of money on top of the lines skincare products from the department store but I don’t know that I am really getting much out of them. Would medical grade skincare products work better for me? I am nearing 40 and I feel like my skin just isn’t as great as it used to be.

Answer:
Over the counter skincare products are cosmetically elegant, although the active ingredient inside isn’t as affective as medical grade. As we approach our 40’s our skin’s natural shedding process slows down therefore requiring more maintenance. Routine exfoliation using Retinols and AHA’s are important as well as antioxidants and sunscreen to protect the skin. Most cosmetic practices carry medical grade skincare products. Answer:
Microdermabrasion is a procedure that is performed to exfoliate the top-most layer of skin leaving it smoother, brighter and more even-toned. The number of treatments suggested, vary from person to person based on the skin’s condition and the reason for the treatment. Our Aesthetician’s evaluate the skin to recommend the proper number of treatments.

Question:
I have very hairy arms and even hair on the back of my fingers. I am a 23 year old female and feel very embarrassed about this. I am tired of having to shave my arms and fingers. Will Laser Hair Removal work in my particular case?

Answer:
Yes, possibly. There are several variables to Laser Hair Removal. The hair must be dark in order for the laser to work. The darker and coarser the hair is, the better and quicker the results. Laser Hair Removal must be performed in a series of treatments usually consisting of 6-10 at 4 week intervals. We like to schedule each patient for a consultation to evaluate the situation before treating.

I have rosacea. Is it best to treat this with products like skincare or with treatments like the laser? Are there times when you would recommend a combination of the two?

Answer:
The first step to treating acne rosacea is developing a skin care regimen that includes topical prescription products. Once the rosacea is well controlled, laser treatments can be considered.
